Victoire, who has recently moved from her home in the Parisian suburbs to Marseille in order to marry baker, Gerard Leblanc, applies for a position as maid at Château Velaux, the Duke Du Roc’s estate, to make ends meet. At the mansion, the Duke’s wife is living on her own while he is away at war.
His wife, Rosalie Du Roc, is a lesbian (and her husband is gay; they’re living in a mutually beneficial lavender marriage) who devotes most of her time to music and composing, playing the harpsichord. She pines for her best friend, the soprano, Prudence, but seeing as Prudence is happily married to another composer, a male competitor, Rosalie sets out to seduce Victoire instead.
Soon she begins dressing Victoire up as a noblewoman and correcting her manners as well as teaching her music, being very strict with her when she fails, making it a point to gradually undress her during these sessions until she can make Victoire serve her in the nude.
This is the story of how Victoire is slowly devoured by these games, writing to her friend (‘my sister’), Hélène Garnier, about it in explicit detail, seeing as the two girls used to be lovers themselves.
If you think this character was made as an excuse for smutty historical femslash writing, you wouldn't be wrong. If you think this means I RP smut, you'd also be wrong. FTB is preferred in this house.
